![]() ![]() #HAND OF FATE 2 BEST CARDS SERIES#It's a series that’s always been an ideal fit for a handheld platform, and while a PS Vita port of the first game was eventually cancelled due to development issues, the latest entry has finally made it Switch - and the results are just as brilliant as we’d hoped. #HAND OF FATE 2 BEST CARDS PC#The original Hand of Fate arrived on PC and consoles in 2015, with its sequel following at the end of the last year. Fusing the basic premise of a deck-building card game with the heart of an action RPG, Hand of Fate 2 offers up one of Switch’s most intriguing and rewarding experiences. The 1 food counts as a gain card, so you can convert it to +5 max health, get the +1 bonus food from the armor anyway and get 3-7 gold back per 2 purchases, which in extremis can mean you pay 1 gold and get 10 max health and 2 food up to 150 max health and 4 food afterwards. We’ve seen plenty of genres successfully spliced together during Nintendo Switch’s lifetime - including the exploration and fisticuffs of Pato Box and the RPG/base-building magic of Dragon Quest Builders - but nothing quite like Defiant Development’s long-awaited sequel. I'm also really fond of the synergy between armor of gluttony, the Monk's Blessing from the temple for 6g, the Wealth blessing from Saint Tala's Day that returns 3-7 (random pick when you get the blessing) gold when you draw two consecutive gain cards of the same type and buying single stacks of food at camp or an equipment (or healer) shop. ![]() Wine of the Gods - 9pm pick, can be a bit dicey without either Malaclypse or the Grifter's Companion, but the 100g payout is worth it.Mystical Island - pay the sailors then an easy (12pm) wheel spin for multiple gains and an equipment draw. ![]()
